ABOUT

Introduction

Nick is one of very few lawyers who combines genuine depth in both employment law and general counsel work. With over 30 years in practice, he has spent 16 of those as a specialist employment lawyer in private practice and 18 as in-house and virtual general counsel, including seven years as Head of Legal at the Met Office. That dual expertise is not common, and for clients it means they can come to Nick with the full range of legal challenges a business faces, not just one part of it.

He has advised across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, renewable energy, meteorology and climate science, and the not-for-profit sector. He currently serves as an independent trustee for an Employee Ownership Trust and has previously held a trustee role at an arts centre with charity status, bringing an additional layer of governance experience that many of his clients find directly relevant.

Clients get joined-up advice across employment, commercial contracts, corporate governance, data protection, competition law and dispute resolution.
